Klepsydra

the Greek word for water clock. (Greek κλεψύδρα from κλέπτειν kleptein, ‘to steal’; ὕδωρ hydor, 'water’ / literally “water thief”),) is any timepiece in which time is measured by the regulated flow of liquid into (inflow type) or out from (outflow type) a vessel where the amount is then measured.

Also, in ancient Greece, a device (water thief) for drawing liquids from vats too large to pour, which utilized the principles of air pressure to transport the liquid from one container to another.
